Between 20-26 January 2025, 31 new chikungunya cases were reported in Réunion. During this period the municipality of Trois-Bassins reported a case for the first time. Six outbreaks currently remain active. Since 23 August 2024, a total of 339 locally acquired cases have been reported in Réunion, of these 200 cases were reported in 2025. Municipalities in the south of the island have been most affected, in particular the town of L'Etang Sale where 90 cases have been reported.
