Chikungunya in France
On 30 June 2025, the regional health agency of Grand Est in mainland France reported a locally acquired case of chikungunya. Epidemiological investigations have indicated that the case had frequented the municipalities of Lipsheim and Fegersheim during their viraemic period. Entomological surveys will be carried out to look for the presence of Aedes albopictus larvae or mosquitoes and to carry out vector control measures if found.
