West Nile virus in Italy

As of 31 July 2025, a total of 89 cases of West Nile virus infection (including eight deaths) have now been confirmed in Italy since the beginning of 2025. A total of 57 new cases were reported between 24 and 30 July 2025. Latina province, in Lazio region, has reported the highest number (54) of cases.
