West Nile virus in Italy
As of 13 August 2025, a total of 275 cases of West Nile virus infection (including 19 deaths) have now been confirmed in Italy since the beginning of 2025. A total of 102 new cases were reported between 7 and 13 August 2025. Lazio region remains the most affected region, with 140 cases. Please see our factsheet for further details on West Nile virus.
